“what if no one watches?”
“I don’t have a facecam, my stream sucks compared to…”
“what if someone makes fun of me in the chat, what do I say?”
“Once I get my new headphones…and microphone…and capture card…and camera…then I’ll start…”
We all have these same fears, but if you don’t start today you can’t improve for tomorrow.
I was listening to an episode of the Tim Ferriss show and he was talking with Dan Carlin who has an amazing podcast called “Hardcore History” which is a massive undertaking…
..I realized ONE truth about starting something before you’re “ready” or “afraid of”…
You’re Never Ready & You Will Always Be Afraid
When Tim first wanted to start his podcast, he looked around at all these successful shows to see what they were doing right and what elements he should utilize for his own show.However, it sounds like the polish and evolution of other shows overwhelmed him, until he got some great advice from a friend.
“I remember looking at current versions of podcasts when I considered starting my own, looking at more polished Joe Rogan episodes and then someone recommended that I go back and look at the first one or two episodes that Joe did on video, and they are hilariously amateur.
If I hadn’t done that, I think I would have been too intimidated to get started, because I would have falsely assumed the polished format you’ve arrived at is where you started and that reflects an intrinsic ability that I lack, which could be true but what I’d love to know is, where their any particular tipping points that helped it get to where it is now?” – Tim Ferris

What are you going to do TODAY that will help you stream “soon”
Maybe do some research today about the topic in general. Then tomorrow you look into a piece you will purchase. Then the next day you clear space out at home for a streaming space.
The important part here is to clearly list out your action steps. “I will start to stream soon” is a good starting point but what will your action steps be to get you to your goal
